Founder Story

Why We Started Canvas Painting Utah

Our family has spent years finishing drywall inside some of Utah's most sought-after custom homes — for builders like McEwan Custom Homes, Ezra Lee Design + Build, Chatwin Homes, and others. We know what a premium project truly requires and we know what a surface has to look like before a single drop of paint goes on it.

We started Canvas Painting Utah because we wanted to bring that same standard to homeowners who deserve a paint job that lasts — done by a company that respects their home and keeps its word.

FAQs

Quick answers

How can I request a painting estimate from Canvas Painting Utah?

Call or text (385) 330-5343, or submit the form on our site. Our team follows up to talk through your project and schedule a Free Paint Design Consultation at a time that works for you.

What areas does Canvas Painting Utah serve?

We serve homeowners across Utah County, including Alpine, American Fork, Cedar Hills, Elk Ridge, Highland, Lehi, Lindon, Mapleton, Orem, Payson, Pleasant Grove, Provo, Spanish Fork, Springville, Woodland Hills, and the surrounding communities. If you're nearby and not sure, call us and we'll confirm.

How soon will someone respond after I contact you?

During business hours we aim to respond within 5 minutes. Clear, prompt communication is part of how we run every project.

Do I need to know exactly what services I want before contacting you?

No. Many homeowners reach out with a general idea. Your Paint Design Consultant will walk the project, talk through options, and help you decide on the right interior, exterior, or cabinet scope.

Is contacting Canvas Painting Utah for an estimate an obligation?

No. Reaching out doesn't commit you to anything. We're happy to answer questions and give you the information you need to make a confident decision on your own timeline.

What's included in the Canvas Care Package?

Four written guarantees on every job: On-Time, Leave It Better, Property Protection, and a 3-Year Craftsmanship Warranty. Lifetime annual touch-ups on the original work are included as well. All four apply to every project, in writing, no fine print.

Do you help with color selection?

Yes. Color consultation is included. Your Paint Design Consultant brings samples, walks the home in real light, and gives straight guidance on color, sheen, and finish before any wall gets touched.

How long does a typical painting project take?

Timelines depend on size and scope. Most whole-home interiors run 4–7 working days, exteriors 3–6 days weather permitting, and cabinets 5–8 days. You get a firm start and finish date in writing.

What type of paint do you use?

Primarily Sherwin-Williams premium lines (Emerald, Cashmere, Duration on exteriors) and Benjamin Moore where the spec calls for it. Cabinets are sprayed with a true cabinet-grade finish. No builder-grade product on a premium repaint.

How often should exterior painting be done on homes in Utah County?

Most Utah County homes benefit from a fresh exterior every 7–10 years, depending on sun exposure, elevation, and substrate. We evaluate siding, trim, and existing coatings to recommend the right timing.

What preparation is included with your exterior painting services?

Full prep on every exterior: wash, scrape loose material, sand rough areas, re-caulk failed joints, and spot-prime bare wood or repaired substrate. The prep is the product — adhesion and durability come from this work, not the topcoat.

How long does an exterior painting project usually take?

Most exteriors in Utah County are completed within 3–6 working days, depending on home size and weather. We schedule carefully, keep the site clean, and communicate daily so the project finishes on time.

How long does an interior painting project usually take?

Most interior projects run 4–7 working days, depending on the size of the space and scope of work. We sequence the job to minimize disruption while holding the finish standard.

Do you protect furniture and floors during interior painting?

Yes. Floors, furniture, and fixtures are covered before any prep begins. We contain one zone at a time with breathable plastic so dust doesn't migrate to the rest of the home.

What type of paint is used for interior projects?

We use premium interior products selected for coverage, washability, and low odor. Low-VOC and zero-VOC options are standard, so most rooms are back to normal within hours.

How long does a cabinet painting project usually take?

Most cabinet projects take 5–8 working days, depending on the number of doors and prep required. Doors are finished in a controlled temporary spray booth built on-site, with proper cure time built into the schedule.

Will painted cabinets hold up to daily use?

Yes. We use cabinet-grade coatings designed for daily handling, moisture, and cleaning. With disciplined prep and proper cure time, the finish stays tight for years.

Do I need to empty my cabinets before painting begins?

We recommend emptying cabinets so contents stay protected and our crew has clean access. Your Project Success Manager walks you through the simple prep steps before the start date.
