Our Story
We come from the world of high-end custom homes.
Canvas Painting Utah is a family-owned painting company born from a heritage of high-end custom-home finishing. The prep is the product — that's not a slogan, it's where we come from.
Meet the founders
Jared + Emma Kotter — Utah County Natives.

Jared, Emma, and the kids.
Jared was raised in Utah County. Emma was raised in Las Vegas but has called Utah home for years. We have two children and love to be doing anything outside.
The neighborhoods we paint aren't a service area on a map — they're the streets we call home.
Before Canvas Painting Utah, there was Canvas Drywall — trusted by Utah's top high-end custom-home builders.
Jared knows what it takes to complete a project to the standard that builders and owners of luxury custom homes would sign off on. That's a different bar than most repaint companies have ever had to clear.
Canvas Painting Utah exists to bring that bar to homeowner repaints.

Our Thesis
The prep is the product.
Paint is the part you see. But the part that lasts — the part that decides whether your finish is still tight in five years or peeling in eighteen months — is everything that happens before the first coat goes on.
We came from the finish side of custom homes, where there's no hiding bad prep under a thick coat. We brought that discipline with us. Surfaces washed, sanded, filled, caulked, and primed correctly — not "scuff and recoat."
Add a buttoned-up process, two named roles on every project, and four written guarantees, and you have the Canvas way of doing it.
Home is your Canvas.
