Cabinet Service

Cabinet Painting in Utah County, UT

A factory-smooth kitchen finish without tearing the kitchen out. Doors and drawer fronts sprayed in our finishing shop, boxes sprayed on site in a dust-controlled zone.

What's included

The look of new cabinets, on a fraction of the budget — and the timeline.

Doors finished in a controlled temporary spray booth built onsite

We build a sealed, ventilated spray booth on site, then label and hinge-map every door and drawer front so it returns to the exact same spot. No off-site transport, no mix-ups.

HVLP-sprayed urethane enamel

Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel through an HVLP system. The finish levels glass-smooth, cures hard, and reads as factory work — not brushed cabinets.

Grain filled before primer

Open-pore woods like oak get a wipe-on grain filler before the bonding primer. No telegraphed grain pattern under the topcoat.

Boxes sprayed on site, dust controlled

We mask off the kitchen with plastic walls and ZipPoles, run a HEPA air scrubber, and spray the boxes in place. Your countertops, appliances, and floors stay clean.

Hardware re-hung straight

We re-drill for new pulls if you're upgrading, or reuse the original holes and re-hang every hinge plumb. Doors close flush, not crooked.

Color and sheen guidance

Sample doors and drawdowns at the consultation. We talk about your light, your counters, your hardware — and steer you to a color that still looks right in three years.

The prep is the product

A glass-smooth cabinet finish is 80% what you do before the topcoat.

A sprayed finish broadcasts every flaw underneath. The work is in the prep, not the spray pass.

  • Degrease every door, drawer, and box face with TSP substitute; rinse and dry.
  • Scuff-sand all surfaces with 220-grit; vacuum and tack-cloth before primer.
  • Wipe-on grain filler on open-pore woods (oak, ash); sand flat once cured.
  • Bonding primer (Sherwin-Williams Extreme Bond or BIN) over every surface, sanded between coats.
  • Two coats of Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel through HVLP at manufacturer-spec mil thickness.

Questions

Good answers, not sales pitches.

How long is the kitchen out of commission?+

Doors and drawer fronts are finished in a controlled temporary spray booth we build on site over 7–10 days. Boxes are sanded, primed, and sprayed in place over 3–4 days. You can use the kitchen most evenings; we mask off the work zone and clean up at the end of each day.

What finish do you use on cabinets?+

Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel sprayed through an HVLP system. It levels glass-smooth, cures hard, and stands up to fingernails and cleaning. Sheen is your call — we usually steer satin for a softer look, semi-gloss for high-traffic family kitchens.

Will the grain show through?+

On oak it can if you don't fill it. We grain-fill open-pore woods before primer so the finish reads as smooth painted millwork, not painted oak.

Can you help with color and sheen?+

Yes. Your Paint Design Consultant brings sample doors and sheen drawdowns to the consultation. We talk about your countertops, hardware, flooring, and the light the kitchen actually gets at the times you use it most.
